ý Transferring to another F1 school þ

If you are a student who has decided to transfer-in to one of the Diocese of Davenport schools or transfer-out from one of the Diocese of Davenport schools you need to follow the instructions listed below. Failure to follow these instructions will could result in deportation.

Transferring into the Diocese of Davenport school system

1)   Contact the school to see if there is room for you in your grade

2)   See if you need to do a interview with the principal. This might have to be done to get your

academic acceptance. A copy of transcripts should be sent to the school for their review.

3)    The Diocesan F1 packet needs to be filled out completely and mailed to our office. This

can be downloaded off this website, please see Forms. Upon review of the packet and

everything is complete and I-20 will be issued.

4)    The Intent to Transfer form needs to be filled out, you can get this from the school or

        download from our website.

5)    The school you are currently attending needs to contact the Diocese of Davenport, Attn:

Virginia Trujillo, to arrange for transfer out and transfer in dates.

6)    Once the above is complete an I-20 will be issued from the Diocese of Davenport and

       mailed to you.

7)    You will have 15 days from the program start date to enroll at school, if you fail to do this

your I-20 will be terminated as a NO-SHOW.

Transferring out of the Diocese of Davenport school system

to another SEVIS approved school

1)    If you are transferring to another school, please remember they need to be SEVIS (F1)

       approved.

2)    All fees and tuition needs to be paid to the school before you will be transferred out.

3)    The school you are transferring to, needs to contact Diocese of Davenport, Attn: Virginia

Trujillo to get the transfer out and transfer in dates.

4)    The Intent to Transfer form needs to be filled out and submitted to the Diocese of

       Davenport and the school.

5)    Once the above is complete, the new school you are transferring to will issue you a new

        I-20.

6)    You will have 15 days from the program start date to enroll at school, if you fail to do this

your I-20 will be terminated as a NO-SHOW.

Traveling

1)    If a nonimmigrant student plans to travel outside the United States, the timing of the transfer

needs to take this into account. The student must reenter with a Form I-20 for the school

that holds his or her active or initial record. So travel must be either:

       • Started and completed before the transfer release date with an active Form I-20 from the

         transfer school

       • Started and completed after the transfer release date with an initial Form I-20 from the

          transfer-in school
