Catechist Certification Brochure

 

Certification Program for all Catechetical Leaders (DRE, CYM, Principals, etc.) and Catechists (all who teach children, youth, and adults) Begins in the Diocese: A brochure with concise information is attached. Whole Community Catechesis Help Available: Orientation and consultation services for the Generations of Faith approach to whole community catechesis is now available through monthly conference calls sponsored by the Center for Ministry Development. Parishes interested in exploring Generations of Faith can call on the second Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. Parishes already involved in Generations of Faith can call on the third Tuesday of each month, also at 1 p.m. To reserve a place on the conference call, contact Kristine@cmdnet.org.

CEW Leadership Conference: October 20, St. Thomas More, Iowa City. "New Manual- New Perspectives" is for CEW teams, steering committees, etc. to implement the new CEW manual. CEW (Christian Experience Weekend) is a retreat for adults originally designed by the Archdiocese of Dubuque and used extensively in our diocese. Deanery Catechist In-Services:

Iowa City Deanery: "As the Father has sent me, so I send you" is the theme for a deanery catechist in-service to be held from  9 a.m. to noon October 6 at St. Mary's in Solon. The morning will feature a keynote by Deacon Frank Agnoli of the diocesan liturgy office, two rounds of breakout sessions, and a grade-level sharing for catechists. Cost is $5. Ministry Formation Programs 2007-2008:

Since 1997, the Diocese of Davenport has offered Ministry Formation Programs. We announced specialized training for ecclesial leaders who desire to serve as parish life administrators and finance administrators. Qualified applicants from other dioceses are welcome to enroll in this training. See the MFP website for more information. For the two programs the applications will be available after May 20 on the website. You may also request an information packet by contacting IlaMae Hanish at hanisch@davenportdiocese.org or 641-791-3435.
